these are compliments that I have been given by serious folk, that speak to the core of me; so true, so valiant, so uncompromisingly truthful
The first from Verna St. Rose Greaves in 2004 thereabouts:
"I was not a waste of breast milk"
The second from a sister I was in a book club with, who befriended me and was real sweet to me,
Debbie Okpofabri, in 2004 thereabouts:
"I am formidable"
The third, I no longer remember who told me, but I believe it was a male and will try to pull my recall to the person, time and date:
"I do not suffer fools gladly"
and as I typed, I remembered, it was from Trevor Farrell, a Management Consultant and UWI professor
that came sometime in the same year, I imagine, maybe 2005
The last life compliment, to date. Came tonight, from a FB friend, Kendall Kendrick, 2010:
"I sense a bit of Noel Coward in you"
WHAT?! BLow mind: prolific writer, producer, director; versatile man of all forms and functions. A Master. My Goodness
And as I write this for posterity, I realize I surely must have gotten life compliments before but did not have the presence of mind to receive them as I do now; clear within and of myself. One I remember from Tuskegee days, from a brother from a French speaking West African country...
"degage" he called me and explained my persona and personality is as such, "to make things happen...so this goes back to 1990-1993
{Praises to Manifest of the MultiTalented Goddess- how many forms can I inhabit}
