Black Sheep Golden GrandChild

wow. what a day
that started since yesterday
liming since 7pm Friday/
celebrating seventy-eight years and a forty nine year history that both preceeded and ran concurrent to me and my life.  so much so that my name and stories were told as part of my aunt, my godfather's wife's life. what a blessing for me. the more time that passes by in recent times the more it occurs to me the black sheep is the preferred, featured elevated and golden grandchild of this baptiste family. one part cannot be extricated from the other. and the more i live the more i realize : hence the reason for the enmity of all and sundry. it gives and teaches compassion, which is funny too cause its like they hate you more for not being perturbed at their impressions of you.
and so it goes/ give thanks

from celebrating life to attending a wake
then panyard stops. to drink the bar. then my first ride squeezing up between two big men on one of the avenue rickshaws--man driving erratic, maneuvering in front of oncoming cars. if you see antics. to stopping a man getting beat in st james by smokey and bunty's. i see everyone looking at me like if i was crazy: black dress, heels, accessories, holding a drink and standing in front a 6 foot plus man laying slaps on a drunk. and is the man who slapping was the total asshole. it is easy to take advantage. a man with muscle, heft and weight could have kicked his ass easy. height doesnt necessary carry. and then instead of going home at 4am. the market calls. flowers for february. seeing my rented car parked on the road. quite amusing when i did not put it there and realize how easy for one to be implicated when people see and sight your property in places you are never/ drinking coconut water. what a tour

a whole life of experiences in one night, almost

and so interesting to lime without drinking much if at all.. folk just wont let you. they threaten to shut the lime down, "come lets go home"- bullies with smiles..

another amusing part of the evening was being asked: "is it more expensive to feed or clothe you?" by the sweetest cutest santa cruz cocopayol indian guy...i paused to think of this first time question..and he interrupts to tell me about my shoes - "is it leather? he asks.."and the bag matching; and look at the accessories"- meanwhile my bag was natural handmade tan-brown leather, my shoes were red..what match he seeing i dont know but it was the palette that all melded with a silk scarf of oranges, reds, beiges, purples. i just started laughing to be amused at what people sees and who is watching. and what i do mindlessly becomes something noticeable to others. he was shocked and surprised to hear me say it is more expensive to feed me. and I immediately said to myself now there is a keeper: a man who speaks in terms of expense rather than cheap. and can effortlessly see quality . alas he was married and like the good decent man he appeared to be was responsibly on his way home well before midnight. his name was curtis

but when i came home at seven, i just cut the flower stems, placed in water, and left the bags of good on the floor. showered and went to sleep. i got up at 12:30 expecting another day of gallivanting and wanting to wash and put away the produce and another blessing hit me: to go to market, come home, wash and drain the bounty and then to eat it fresh as it is. raw. no cooking. i bought some deep red soft tomatoes that reminded me of home grown garden heirlooms...and they are just as sweet and perfected.

and while at the market, I was amused: walking around, out late at night and as long as we stayed, the night seemed to go on forever, lingered in darkness longer than expected...but what was striking is a star I have no choice but to call the morning star. Super bright in the eastern sky about forty degrees up from horizon..I just read it is Venus - in the Morning Sky as the Morning Star..{Brilliant Venus outshines all other stars in the night sky.  It rises in the eastern sky over 2 hours before the sun throughout the month}

anyway, let me stop babbling..
it is a great start to february
and thank Richie Rich Chippy Radesh for what could not be a better evening/
